Customer Solutions Analyst, Tableau Software
I started at Tableau in February 2015 as a technical support specialist, and moved into an analyst role in 2019. I've seen all sorts of issues, including connecting to data sources, formatting views, applying filters and action filters, and working with parameters and calculated fields.
I have to admit that calculations are my favorite thing. I always try to write my calculations to make sense and reduce work for the user.
I know that creating views in Tableau can be a new experience when one is used to the functions and limitations of other programs, like Excel. I would love the opportunity to show you how Tableau Desktop really shines in visualizing data.
In college I studied environmental and conservation biology. Later, I worked at a local environmental nonprofit for four years before starting at Tableau. At heart I will always be strongly motivated to create a more sustainable world. I believe in the concept of the triple bottom line (people, planet, profit) and I think that focusing on environmental issues can be one and the same as helping people.
