Product Manager, Tableau Software
As a Product Consultant at Tableau I work first hand with a wide variety of customers and organizations to help them adopt and deploy Tableau successfully. This ranges from developing and running live webinars to working one-on-one with individuals to solve complex business problems using Tableau Desktop and Server.
I love the opportunity to see inside various business and work closely with customers to determine how best to use Tableau. One of the most satisfying parts of my job is seeing a customer become successful with Tableau; whether helping them build their first dashboard, puzzle out a tricky calculation or improve workbook performance.
I'm a recent Seattle transplant from the East Coast. I miss the snow but not the cold! My background is in Computer Science and I have worked on a variety of projects in Software Development and Data Visualization. At Tableau being a Product Consultant lets me explore both of these areas. Working with a wide variety of customers means I'm always facing new challenges.
I've learned that there is rarely one solution to a data problem. Oftentimes the best solution comes from brainstorming with a group and trying different approaches. This is what makes Tableau so effective; you can create something that other people can adjust and adapt as time and needs change.
I spend a large amount of my time working to get people started with Tableau Desktop; explaining functionality and getting them to think about their data in a visual and effective way. Recently I've been working more on the programming side; connecting to web data sources, embedding and automating Tableau processes.
Education, Womens Rights and the Environment are areas that are especially important to me. I would love to use the skills I have to contribute to non-profit organizations while also learning more about those areas myself.
